V25-100 : W13691/5 LAND ADJACENT TO GATE FARM, RUMBURGH

Outline application for construction of two houses.

The Director of Planning and Building Control advised members that there was a long standing approval for a single house on this site. However, this proposal would further subdivide the site and would be out of character as there would not be comparable spacing between adjacent dwellings. There was concern that this could provide a precedent for further subdivision along this section of road well outside the village development area. This proposal could also affect the setting of the adjoining listed building, as the houses would be positioned closer to the boundaries.

The Parish Council observation was for refusal. Objections had been received from four adjacent properties reiterating the issues raised by the Director.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W13691/5.
